Have you been stressed out lately? do you feel that you can't catch a break? Have you been feeling a bit burnt out? Well then, this post is especially for you my friend. Stress can cause many health issues in the long term and it is of utmost importance that we learn to manage it even when super busy.
1. Prioritize: Make a list of all that you have on your plate, so you can look at it and figure out what to prioritize and what to cut down on without having to multitask and do it all at once. Deal with one thing at a time or try to manage your time in a way that you can focus on each task properly.
2. Do Only Enough: I'm not saying half ass things in your life, but trying to over achieve everything can also leave us fatigued, it would be better to do exactly what needs to be done and nothing more and nothing less. Stop trying to be a perfectionist and accept that sometimes just enough is perfect. This is for when you have lots of different things to deal with. You can be the perfectionist when you have less on your plate.
3. Health: Being healthy should always take priority over everything else, our body and mind needs to recharge and making sure to pay attention to your health, making time to practice some healthy habits and incorporating some in your daily routine can do a lot when it comes to stress management forexample, drinking enough water will keep your skin glowing and organs healthy, eating on time and taking your vitamins.
4. Just Breathe: This is something we always hear we need to do and this is what we forget to do properly, set an alarm on your phone to remind you to practice deep breathing every now and then through out your day, payong attention to your breathing will allow you to be grounded too which can be exactly what your mind might need when experiencing stressful situations or busy days.
5. Be Okay Not Doing Anything: Your days off might be the only time you have to get your house chores done and run errands but put aside at least an hour for yourself to not do anything at all. Unless you're like me, I can never not do something, I always seem to start some random project when Im trying to not to anything but I found gardening and painting are somethings that calm me down, find a hobby if you can't seem to shut your mind. The point is to take a break every now and then and either do something you love or love doing nothing at all, by all means sit on your couch and binge watch that show you've been meaning to watch JUST MAKE SOME TIME FOR YOURSELF.
6. Talk To A Friend: Friends and family who are supportive and listen to us actively are a great gift in life, talking about your what's stressing you out and discussing your emotions can help you lessen your own burden. Sometimes all we really need is to feel heard and let it out.
Pay attention your mental health, and your body. Don't let yourself burn out the world needs your light.
